About Me

Let me tell you a little about myself and what I do...

Who I am

Hello everyone! My name is David Polivka, and the most important thing you can know about me is that a I am dog dad of two rescue dogs. Paxton (seen right) is a 2-year-old great-Pyrenees- border collie mix and Lola is a 4-year-old terrier-bulldog mix. They are both adopted from Texas and have lots of energy and sometimes love (if you have cookies). When I am not busy walking my dogs. I am an avid foodie, particularly for Salt& Straw Ice Cream and a good brunch. To support my food obsession, I enjoy cooking and making bread for my wife, and thanks to the food network I am decent at it. In between my meals I enjoy doing things a stereotypical Pacific Northwester would enjoy doing, hiking, being active, etc. Since I enjoy more than three months of sunshine of year like we get in Seattle, I enjoy traveling all over the world just to remember what the sun looks like. During the summer I will be rooting on Seattleā€™s loveable losers, aka the Mariners, in hopes that one-day that they will become like our beloved Seahawks. I am currently working at Amazon as a Category Analyst. A lot of my career has involved process improvement types of activities, which means I have been involved with various projects either in a leading role or as a team member on a consistent basis. Over the last few years I have been able to expand my skillset to learn data analytics and visualization techniques, including a certificate from the University of Washington.
